Sanctions Screening Analyst - Insurance

Sanctions Screening Analyst – Lloyd’s Managing Agent Role

About the Role This position supports the sanctions compliance function of a Lloyd’s managing agent client, embedded within their third-party team. The Sanctions Screening Analyst ensures robust day-to-day operations of screening processes, alert management, and escalation workflows, while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory alignment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct sanctions screening across counterparties, coverholders, and transactions in accordance with client procedures
  • Manage and resolve screening alerts, documenting decisions and escalation rationale
  • Maintain sanctions watchlists and screening configurations, ensuring alignment with:
    • OFAC
    • HMT (Her Majesty’s Treasury)
    • UN sanctions
    • EU frameworks
  • Support the periodic review of sanctions policies, procedures, and risk appetite adjustments
  • Assist in preparing sanctions-related reporting for compliance and risk committees
  • Liaise with underwriting, claims, and delegated authority teams to resolve sanctions queries
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including automation and workflow enhancements
  • Monitor updates to sanctions regimes and assess implications for screening coverage/procedures

Requirements

  • Sanctions screening experience within insurance, financial services, or a related regulated environment
  • Knowledge of major sanctions regimes: OFAC, HMT, UN, and EU
  • Proficiency in operating screening platforms and managing alert queues
  • Familiarity with insurance market counterparty structures, including:
    • Coverholders
    • Third-party administrators (TPAs)
  • Strong analytical skills, methodical approach for alert investigation and documentation
  • Ability to identify process gaps and contribute to control enhancements

Initial contract: 9 months Competitive salary.
