Purpose
The Sanitation Technician II performs a variety of cleaning and sanitizing tasks to maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene in the facility/warehouse environment. This role requires more experience and a greater understanding of sanitation procedures and equipment than the Sanitation Technician I position. The Technician II may also provide guidance to less experienced team members and take on more complex cleaning tasks.

Responsibilities
- Perform more complex cleaning and sanitizing tasks, such as deep cleaning of production areas, specialized equipment cleaning, and application of specific sanitizing agents.
- Monitor and maintain sanitation supplies inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage.
- Operate and maintain a wider range of cleaning equipment, including specialized machinery and tools.
- Conduct regular inspections of assigned areas to ensure adherence to sanitation standards and identify areas needing attention.
- Train and guide Sanitation Technician I staff on proper cleaning and sanitizing procedures, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
- Assist in developing and implementing sanitation schedules and procedures.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and perform basic maintenance on cleaning equipment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and sanitation standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP).
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or sanitation concerns to the supervisor promptly.
- Properly dispose of waste and recyclables, adhering to environmental regulations.

Skills
- Proficient in operating a variety of cleaning equipment, including specialized machinery such as floor scrubbers, high-pressure washers, and steam cleaners.
- Ability to train and guide other team members.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and sanitation standards (e.g., OSHA, HACCP, GMP).
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Ability to troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and perform basic maintenance.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education
- High school diploma or GED
Experience
- 0-2+ years of experience
