About The Opportunity
Discover Recruitment is supporting a leading organisation embarking on a significant SAP transformation programme. We are seeking an experienced SAP BTP Developer to join a high-performing delivery team responsible for designing, developing and delivering cloud-native applications and integrations on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
Working alongside SAP Functional Consultants, Architects, and Product Owners, you will play a key role in extending SAP solutions using Clean Core principles whilst developing scalable, secure and modern cloud applications.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain enterprise applications on SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP).
- Build cloud-native applications using the SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP).
- Develop scalable backend services using Node.js and CAP.
- Design and model business data using Core Data Services (CDS).
- Build and expose RESTful APIs and OData V4 services.
- Develop side-by-side extensions for SAP S/4HANA following SAP Clean Core principles.
- Configure and utilise SAP BTP services including:
- SAP HANA Cloud
- Destination Service
- Connectivity Service
- XSUAA
- Job Scheduler
- Cloud Connector
- Deploy and manage applications within Cloud Foundry (Kyma experience beneficial).
- Collaborate with SAP Fiori/UI5 developers to deliver intuitive user experiences.
- Integrate SAP and non-SAP applications using SAP Integration Suite and APIs.
- Produce technical specifications and solution documentation.
- Troubleshoot production issues and optimise application performance.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Conduct code reviews and promote development best practices across the team.

Required Experience
- 2+ years' commercial SAP development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
- Experience developing applications using SAP CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model).
- Strong Node.js development experience.
- Experience with Core Data Services (CDS).
- Development of REST APIs and OData services.
- SAP HANA Cloud experience.
- Experience deploying applications to SAP Cloud Foundry.
- Experience extending SAP S/4HANA using Clean Core methodologies.
- Strong understanding of SAP security concepts including XSUAA and authentication.
- Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
