Job Title: SAP HR & Payroll Functional
Job Type: Contract · Inside IR35
Location: UK/Ireland — Hybrid Once in 3 weeks (flexible)
Duration: 6 months
The Role
We are seeking an experienced SAP HCM Consultant to join our dynamic IT Service Delivery team. In this role, you will be responsible for HR and Payroll areas of SAP systems that support critical business functions. You will collaborate closely with IT and business stakeholders for day-to-day operations and projects.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide subject matter expertise and support for the ESB’s SAP System’s
- Provide end user support for the SAP S4Hana & SAP Cloud, UK & Irish Payroll.
- Provide support for SAP HR & Payroll modules.
- Investigate and resolve support calls raised by the business.
- Work on internal SAP projects and Change Requests as required.
- Identify potential process improvements opportunities across the SAP landscape.
- Liaise with a variety of stakeholders in the specification, development and testing of enhancements / modifications to the SAP solution.
- Complete knowledge transfer for respective application areas to other members of the ESB team.
- Work alongside Team Leads, Delivery Leads, Functional SME’s and Solution Architects to Identify and manage risks.

Managing change request scoping to include:
- Estimation and design – preparing functional specifications.
- Implementation – completing system configuration.
Your Profile
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
- Strong functional experience in SAP S/4HANA Core HR modules including:
- Personnel Admin
- Organizational Management
- Time Management (including Time Evaluation, Cross Application Timesheet)
- Compensation Management
- Experience in UK and Irish Payroll
- Experience in Employee Self Service/Manager Self Service using WDA and FIORI based applications
- Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in similar roles
- Functional experience in Success Factors and SAP Concur would be an added advantage.
- Must have hands on functional experience in SAP ERP/S/4Hana or SAP Cloud including business process definition, configuration, functional specification, functional/ integration/ performance testing/ regression testing etc.
- Must have experience in gathering business requirements from stakeholders and designing and implementing business solutions.
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills are mandatory for interaction with different stakeholders involved in the Projects (i.e. in the business process definition stages, design, testing etc. with technical and non-technical people).
- Knowledge of Irish and/or UK payroll is required.
- Knowledge of standard testing practices for SAP Projects is a must.
- Experience with the application HP Quality Centre is an advantage (i.e., for the creation and execution of test scripts and the resolution of Defects)
- Ability to maintain a common set of scoping, design, implementation and test artefacts and templates in line with agreed project definitions
- Understands solutions required to address functional and non-functional business requirements with significant experience implementing technical solutions.
- Experience of working on large SAP projects and all phases of project lifecycle.
