SAP Project Manager

SAP Project Manager – JDE to SAP S/4HANA Migration

Location: Leeds, UK (with travel required) Contract Type: Initial 6-month assignment Client: Global life science organisation

About the Role

Masentó is seeking an experienced SAP Project Manager to lead a strategic migration from JD Edwards (JDE) ERP platform to SAP S/4HANA. This critical role will require ownership of the full implementation lifecycle, including data migration, process redesign, and cutover/hypercare phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end delivery of the S/4HANA implementation from design stage through cutover and hypercare
  • Manage the transition from legacy JDE to SAP, including:
    • ERP data migration
    • Process re-mapping
    • JDE-to-SAP change management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between:
    • Client stakeholders
    • System integrators (SI partners)
    • Internal workstream leads
  • Manage project governance, including:
    • RAID logs (risks, actions, issues, dependencies)
    • Budget tracking
    • Reporting to steering committee/sponsors
  • Coordinate cross-functional workstreams:
    • Functional alignment
    • Technical enablement
    • Data migration
    • Testing
    • Training
    • Organisational change management (OCM)
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory/validation standards, particularly:
    • Good Manufacturing Practice (GxP)
    • Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) / Current Good Manufacturing Practice-Validation (CGMP-V) as applicable within pharma/life sciences
  • Oversee third-party vendors and system integrators to meet milestone targets
  • Lead cutover planning and post-go-live hypercare stabilisation efforts
  • Proactively identify & mitigate risks, dependencies, and issues across the programme

Required Skills & Experience

Technical & Delivery Expertise

  • Proven track record delivering one or more full-lifecycle SAP S/4HANA implementations
  • Deep understanding of JDE-to-SAP migration complexities, including:
    • Legacy system decommissioning
    • ERP data migration challenges (e.g., extraction, transformation, load)
  • Strong project governance framework experience (Waterfall, Agile hybrid preferred)
  • Experience managing multi-workstream/multi-vendor engagements

Stakeholder Management

  • Expertise in stakeholder engagement at senior/C-suite level within global organisations
  • Ability to act decisively with all stakeholders, including:
    • Executive sponsors
    • Regulatory departments
    • Functional leads
    • Technical teams

Industry Context

  • Essential: Direct experience within pharmaceutical or life sciences, or regulated manufacturing sectors
  • Familiarity with industry regulations, including cGMP**, FDA or EMA guidance if applicable

Soft Skills

  • Strong change leadership and ingkatage to drive adoption post-live
  • Clear, concise communication skills across technical/non-technical teams
