Job Title: SAP SuccessFactors Payroll Consultant
Location: UK Position Type: Full-time Experience Level: 5+ years
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP SuccessFactors Payroll Consultant to support the migration and transformation of existing SAP ECC Payroll environments to SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) and broader SAP SuccessFactors platforms within complex enterprise environments.
The role requires deep expertise in migrating from legacy SAP HCM/ECC landscapes to modern SAP SuccessFactors solutions, including payroll transformation, Employee Central integration, data migration, process harmonisation, security design, and enterprise integration strategy.
The consultant will play a critical role in defining the target-state architecture, supporting payroll and HR transformation objectives, and ensuring successful migration, testing, cutover, and operational transition activities across the programme lifecycle.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end payroll and HR solution architecture for migration from SAP ECC/SAP HCM Payroll to SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) and SuccessFactors platforms.
- Conduct detailed assessments of existing SAP environments including:
- SAP ECC HCM modules
- Payroll schemas and PCRs
- Wage types and payroll configuration
- Organisational structures
- Interfaces and integrations
- Custom payroll logic and BADIs
- Security roles and authorisations
- Reporting and operational dependencies
- Define target-state SAP SuccessFactors architecture aligned to:
- SAP best practices
- Enterprise integration standards
- Security and compliance requirements
- Future cloud operating models
- HR and payroll transformation objectives
- Provide strategic guidance on migration from on-premise SAP environments to SAP SuccessFactors including:
- Employee Central adoption
- Employee Central Payroll (ECP)
- Hybrid coexistence models
- Data harmonisation
- Identity and access management
- Integration architecture
- Lead and support:
- Payroll transformation activities
- Data migration and cleansing
- Payroll reconciliation
- Parallel payroll execution
- Testing cycles and defect resolution
- Cutover and hypercare activities
- Collaborate with HR, payroll, finance, infrastructure, security, architecture, and integration teams throughout all delivery phases.
- Provide architectural guidance for:
- SAP CPI integrations
- SAP Cloud Identity Services (CIS)
- Middleware integration patterns
- Electronic payslips
- Payroll Control Center
- BACS and third-party payroll interfaces
- Review and advise on:
- BADIs and custom developments
- Payroll interfaces
- Legacy customisations
- Operational support processes
- Technical debt remediation
- Support governance forums, architecture assurance reviews, risk management discussions, and strategic programme decisions.
- Ensure all technical documentation, operational procedures, support artefacts, and knowledge transfer deliverables are completed to agreed quality standards.

Technical Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience delivering SAP HCM, SAP ECC Payroll, and SAP SuccessFactors transformation and migration programmes within complex enterprise environments.
- Proven expertise migrating from legacy SAP ECC/SAP HCM platforms to SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central and Employee Central Payroll (ECP).
- Strong expertise in:
- Payroll schemas
- PCRs (Personnel Calculation Rules)
- Wage types
- Retro payroll processing
- Payroll Control Center
- Payroll reconciliation
- Payroll auditing
- Statutory payroll compliance
- Deep understanding of SAP SuccessFactors architecture including:
- Employee Central
- Employee Central Payroll
- SAP CPI
- SAP Cloud Identity Services (CIS)
- Role-based permissions and security architecture
- Strong experience designing hybrid SAP landscapes integrating:
- On-premise SAP systems
- Cloud HR platforms
- Third-party payroll systems
- Finance and reporting platforms
- Strong understanding of UK payroll regulations and compliance including:
- HMRC reporting
- PAYE
- Pension processing
- BACS integrations
- GDPR and payroll auditing requirements
- Experience with:
- SAP data migration strategies
- Data mapping and transformation
- Parallel payroll runs
- Cutover management
- Hypercare support
- Operational transition to BAU
- Familiarity with:
- SAP Activate methodology
- Agile and waterfall delivery models
- Enterprise governance frameworks
- Architecture assurance processes
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and documentation capabilities.
