SAP Technical Architect
SAP Technical Architect – S/4HANA Finance
Location: London (3/4 days per week onsite) Rate: £600–650 (Inside IR35) Contract Duration: Long-term
We are seeking an experienced SAP Technical Architect to take full ownership of the technical architecture across a complex SAP landscape, with S/4HANA Finance as the core focus. The successful candidate will act as the technical authority for the SAP platform, providing critical leadership in architecture design, governance, and oversight throughout development teams, system integrators, and delivery partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end SAP technical architecture, with S/4HANA Finance at its core.
- Define technical solution designs and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
- Provide technical leadership across SAP development and implementation teams.
- Lead architecture reviews, design governance, and technical decision-making.
- Oversee technical delivery across S/4HANA Finance, SuccessFactors, and Ariba platforms.
- Develop strategies for extensions and customisations across SAP technologies and cloud platforms.
- Ensure adherence to security, resilience, performance, and operational standards.
- Collaborate closely with business architects, functional leads, and delivery partners throughout implementation and post-go-live support.

Required Experience
- Extensive experience as an SAP Technical Architect or Enterprise Architect.
- Strong expertise in delivering S/4HANA Finance transformation programmes.
- Proven ability to own technical architecture across complex SAP landscapes.
- Deep understanding of SAP technical governance, architecture standards, and delivery oversight.
- Experience working in SuccessFactors and Ariba environments.
- Track record of leading technical teams, reviewing designs, and mentoring engineers.
- Experience operating within large enterprise or highly regulated environments.

- Expertise in:
- SAP Integration Suite (CPI)
- PI/PO (Process Integration/Process Orchestration)
- SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform)
- Fiori/UI5
- ABAP
- Experience with APIs and middleware integration technologies.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, including Azure and AWS.
