SAP Development Lead

Inside IR35
1 Year Contract
Existing or eligibility for BPSS Clearance
80% Remote Working

We're looking for an SAP Development Lead to join a large-scale SAP transformation programme, covering both S/4HANA delivery and ongoing enhancement/support work.

The Role

You'll take ownership of end-to-end SAP development and design governance across a complex enterprise landscape, leading technical direction across both active change projects and business-as-usual support, including dual-system landscape management and retrofit processes as part of an active S/4HANA conversion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage SAP development teams, providing technical direction, mentoring, and oversight across development and enhancement activity
  • Drive design, development, testing, and deployment of SAP solutions across ECC and related SAP platforms
  • Manage the delivery of change projects within a BAU environment, balancing project priorities with operational support
  • Work within a dual-system landscape, managing retrofit processes to synchronise development between ECC and S/4HANA environments
  • Establish and enforce development standards, coding guidelines, QA processes, and technical governance
  • Oversee technical design reviews, code reviews, performance optimisation, and defect resolution
  • Lead technical impact assessments and effort estimations for new projects, enhancements, and upgrades
  • Lead custom code remediation activity ahead of an S/4HANA programme
  • Ensure compliance with security, audit, transport management, and change control processes
  • Manage relationships with external partners, vendors, and development teams
  • Drive continuous improvement in development processes, automation, and DevOps practices

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
