We're looking for an SAP Development Lead to join a large-scale SAP transformation programme, covering both S/4HANA delivery and ongoing enhancement/support work.
The Role
You'll take ownership of end-to-end SAP development and design governance across a complex enterprise landscape, leading technical direction across both active change projects and business-as-usual support, including dual-system landscape management and retrofit processes as part of an active S/4HANA conversion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage SAP development teams, providing technical direction, mentoring, and oversight across development and enhancement activity
- Drive design, development, testing, and deployment of SAP solutions across ECC and related SAP platforms
- Manage the delivery of change projects within a BAU environment, balancing project priorities with operational support
- Work within a dual-system landscape, managing retrofit processes to synchronise development between ECC and S/4HANA environments
- Establish and enforce development standards, coding guidelines, QA processes, and technical governance
- Oversee technical design reviews, code reviews, performance optimisation, and defect resolution
- Lead technical impact assessments and effort estimations for new projects, enhancements, and upgrades
- Lead custom code remediation activity ahead of an S/4HANA programme
- Ensure compliance with security, audit, transport management, and change control processes
- Manage relationships with external partners, vendors, and development teams
- Drive continuous improvement in development processes, automation, and DevOps practices

- Basic security clearance (BPSS) required
- Demonstrable experience leading SAP development teams across both ECC and S/4HANA
- Experience operating in a BAU environment alongside active change and transformation delivery
- Experience with custom code remediation in preparation for an S/4HANA conversion
- Proven experience working in dual-system landscapes with retrofit processes
- Rev-Trac experience preferred
- Full-stack SAP development skillset, including ABAP, SAP BTP, Fiori, API/integration development, and DevOps practices
- Strong stakeholder management across functional, technical, and programme leadership audiences
