Greetings from Ubique Systems!!!
We are looking for a SAS Technical Consultant for one of our customers who has an expertise in:
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced SAS Technical Consultant to act as the primary technical liaison and Subject Matter Expert (SME) on behalf of the bank during a critical infrastructure modernization project. The bank is migrating its SAS environment from a non-strategic data center (with an unsupported OS on bare metal) to a new Virtual Machine (VM) infrastructure.
While the SAS vendor team will be executing the hands-on software installation and data migration, we require a strong internal advocate to oversee the engagement, coordinate cut-over activities, and hold the SAS vendor accountable for all deliverables. You will ensure that this implementation of SAS 9.4 M9 (SAS Classic), including Metadata and Grid Controller Servers, is executed smoothly, securely, and in alignment with the bank’s standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Vendor Oversight & Accountability: Act as the bank’s representative in the engagement with SAS. Monitor their progress, validate their technical approach, and hold the SAS consulting team strictly accountable for project timelines, deliverables, and quality.
- Implementation Management: Oversee the simple implementation of SAS 9.4 M9 (SAS Classic), specifically focusing on the setup and configuration of the SAS Metadata Server and SAS Grid Controller Servers.
- Migration Coordination: Manage the end-to-end migration strategy from the bank's side. Oversee the application move from the legacy bare metal environment to the new VM infrastructure.
- Data Migration Oversight: While the SAS vendor will perform the physical source-to-target data migration, you will review migration plans, ensure data integrity, and validate the success of the data transfer.
- Cut-over & Go-Live Management: Plan, coordinate, and govern all cut-over activities, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations during the transition to the new infrastructure.
- Strategic Configuration: Advise on SAS core product capabilities and deployment options to ensure the target state is optimized for the bank's needs.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
