SC Cleared Technical Product Manager

Role: Contract Technical Product Manager / Product Owner

Location & Contract Details

  • Location: London; 3 days per week onsite
  • Duration: Initial 12-month contract (2+ year programme)
  • Day Rate: £500 per day (Outside IR35)
  • Security Clearance Required: Active SC Clearance (Willingness to undergo DV Clearance)

About the Role

We are seeking a Technical Product Manager / Product Owner for a major, multi-year Government platform upgrade/integration in London. This role requires a blend of:

  • Hands-on Google Cloud experience
  • Sharp people management skills
  • Ability to lead an agile squad through complex integrations

Responsibilities

  • Define and support the product vision for your squad and area of responsibility.
  • Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with programme priorities while delivering highest-value work.
  • Lead requirements workshops, translating business needs into:
    • User stories
    • Acceptance criteria
    • Functional specifications
  • Break down outcomes into clear, deliverable technical tasks for engineering teams.
  • Act as the voice of the customer, ensuring solutions meet user needs by:
    • Gathering feedback
    • Refining solutions iteratively
  • Support:
    • Sprint planning
    • Backlog refinement
  • Prioritise work based on value and feasibility.
  • Drive continuous improvement:
    • Refine the backlog
    • Adapt to feedback and evolving delivery requirements
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders across product, engineering, and programme teams.

Requirements

  • Cloud expertise:
    • Proven experience delivering cloud-native solutions, specifically within Google Cloud.
  • Agile & backlog management:
    • Deep experience in backlog ownership.
    • Proficiency in user story writing.
    • Experience with scaled Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS, etc.).
  • Leadership & communication:
    • Strong people management skills.
    • Track record of guiding technical squads.
    • Expertise in managing complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Public Sector & Security Environment:
    • Experience navigating regulated UK Government or secure environments.
  • Clearance:
    • Active SC clearance (or willingness to obtain DV clearance).
