Role Description
The Scaffold Inspector is a full-time, on-site role based in the United Kingdom. The role involves carrying out regular inspections of scaffolding structures to ensure they meet safety regulations, company standards, and project specifications. Daily tasks include:

- Assessing the stability and integrity of scaffolds
- Identifying hazards or non-compliance issues
- Documenting inspection findings in clear reports

The Scaffold Inspector works closely with site supervisors and scaffolding crews to:
- Recommend corrective actions
- Verify that remedial work is completed
- Provide guidance on safe assembly, modification, and dismantling procedures
The role also includes maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and supporting a strong safety culture on all sites.
Qualifications
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, site plans, and scaffolding designs, and translate them into practical inspection checks.
- Strong understanding of scaffolding standards, health and safety regulations, and industry best practices (e.g., working at height, load limits, fall protection).
- Competence in conducting systematic inspections, recording findings, and producing clear, accurate reports for project teams and management.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with scaffolders, site managers, and clients in a professional manner.
- Attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to make confident decisions regarding safe use or required corrective actions.
- Relevant scaffolding or inspection certifications (e.g., CISRS, or equivalent) and prior experience in scaffolding, construction, or site safety roles.
- Physical ability to access scaffolding structures safely, including climbing and working at height, with appropriate PPE.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with UK regulations and guidance related to scaffolding and construction safety.
