Works Scheduler (Maternity Cover)

We are actively seeking a Works Scheduler (Maternity Cover) to join our friendly, dedicated team on a 12 Month Fixed Term basis that ensure our customer needs are met in an efficient and timely manner. An excellent telephone manner and problem solving skills are a must.

About the Role

Location: Pride Park, Derby, Derbyshire.
Hours: 40 hours per week on a 7-week rotating rota. This includes a mix of shifts: approximately 5 weeks of 07:00–15:30 (Monday–Friday), 1 week of 09:00–18:00 (Monday–Friday), and 1 week out of 7 that includes weekend working as standard.
Salary: from £26,500.00
Overtime (outside of standard working hours): Paid at x1.5 (Saturday) and x2 on a Sunday

Responsibilities

  • Optimising, preparing and scheduling the preventive, planned and remedial maintenance.
  • You will schedule work orders in accordance with SLA’s, whilst optimising travel routes and increasing productivity.
  • Working closely with the engineers to identify and rectify issues whilst improving the effectiveness of the operations department.
  • Maintaining high standards within Health, Safety & Environment, Housekeeping, Performance, Waste, Communication and Continuous Improvement.
  • Effectively supporting the Operations Manager and operations team to meet output requirements in quality expectations, cost management and the delivery of key objectives and operational performance targets.
  • Managing and coordinating the promoted workload according to defined priorities, estimating resource and duration requirements in line with agreed metrics.
  • Participate and supporting scheduled meetings.

Experience and Qualifications Required for the Role

  • Previous experience of rota scheduling or planning (essential),
  • Experience within utilities (preferred).
  • Experience of working within a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to make decisions in a time pressured environment.
  • Competent skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Working knowledge of SAP systems would be desirable.
