The Position: Scheduler - Nuclear Vulcain Engineering UK are seeking a Scheduler to join the planning and scheduling teams for internal and client engineering projects in the UK Nuclear sector.
The role is responsible for reporting the performance of the plan to senior members of the team and communicate effectively with stakeholders responsible for delivering the plan to ensure it is representative of current progress.
The Scheduler will play an important role in Vulcain’s PMO teams and will directly support a range of high profile and high value nuclear new build projects, offering the chance to develop a career in some of the largest projects in the UK for several decades.
Some of the main responsibilities of the Scheduler will include: Breakdown Structures (WBS), resource management, cost management of risk and critical path review, using appropriate software and tools. Manage the change control as the project/programme scope changes, using the correct processes and updating the necessary configuration documentation. Produce and present monthly reports. Monitor the project baseline control and different types of baseline change. Integrate risk and their costs effectively into the plan/schedule. Apply project control methodologies and processes for programme and project management schedule. Participate in technical communities to support the development of other Vulcain staff.

Alongside a commitment to our values of Care & Compassion, Performance, Team Spirit, and Inclusiveness, we are looking for individuals who can bring the following: Experience with Primavera P6 Broad experience of supporting the construction and/or engineering phase of a high value project. Industry exposure in Nuclear or another highly regulated heavy industry, such as Energy, Rail, Defence. Understanding of project management tools and techniques. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate costs/data in a well structured manner. Confident managing a multitude of stakeholders, including senior leadership, both internally and externally, as well as the ability to challenge and consult when required. Project management certification such as APM, PMI or Prince 2 would be beneficial but not required Reside locally to Bristol or be prepared to relocate, as this permanent role does not include travel expense coverage.
Please note that visa sponsorship is not guaranteed and is assessed on a case-by-case basis, depending on role criticality and project needs. Many of our UK projects require high-level security clearance, meaning we can often only consider candidates with an existing, indefinite right to work in the UK. Exceptionally, we may consider visa sponsorship for applicants with niche experience aligned to our core work (e.g. EPR/nuclear new build).
