📍 Location: Milton Keynes, MK17 8LX

💰 Pay: £35,000

🕒 Working Hours: Friday - Tuesday (5am–2pm)

About the Role

Our Scheduling Manager roles are a unique opportunity to contribute to the shaping and build-out of a brand-new Workforce Management function at the heart of our business.

We’re transforming how we plan, schedule, and deliver our services—and we’re looking for a Scheduling Manager who’s ready to play a key role in that journey. As Scheduling Manager, you’ll be at the centre of our operation—ensuring the right people are in the right place at the right time, every time. But this role is about far more than managing schedules—you’ll play a key part in shaping how our workforce function operates, driving performance, efficiency, and service delivery across the business. You’ll lead and develop a team that’s critical to our success while influencing the future direction of workforce planning.

Job Description

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Scheduling Manager, you’ll:

  • Lead, coach, and inspire a team of schedulers, creating a high-performing environment where people are supported, motivated, and accountable for delivering excellence.
  • Take ownership of workforce scheduling through WFM systems, ensuring full and effective shift coverage across all operations.
  • Monitor live operations and confidently make real-time decisions to respond to changing demands, ensuring continuity of service at all times.
  • Ensure all scheduling activity is fully compliant with contracts, legislation, and company policies, maintaining high operational and ethical standards.
  • Act as the key escalation point for workforce and scheduling challenges, resolving issues quickly and effectively.
  • Use data, trends, and forecasting insights to anticipate future resourcing needs and continuously improve workforce planning.
  • Oversee the accuracy of rostering:
    • Reduce pay queries
    • Prevent errors
    • Ensure invoices are delivered on time
  • Support recruitment and workforce planning, helping to maintain optimal staffing levels in line with business needs.
  • Ensure all personnel are fully compliant with licencing and training requirements, maintaining readiness for deployment.
  • Drive continuous improvement, identifying smarter and more efficient ways of working to enhance service delivery.
  • Champion and embed a high-performance culture, aligned with company values and focused on collaboration, accountability, and results.

Quantifications & Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

  • A natural leader who brings energy, ownership, and accountability.
  • Experience with WFM systems (Timegate desirable).
  • Data-driven thinking with the ability to balance strategy and delivery.
  • Someone who thrives in complexity and can make confident decisions under pressure.
  • An excellent communicator who builds lasting relationships across teams.
  • Have a five-year checkable employment history, or documentary evidence of any period of unemployment, self-employment, or full/part-time education during that period.
