Do you thrive in a fast paced environment? CML are looking for a Scheme Project Manager, with a strong background in Civil Engineering to join our established team in Sheffield. Your Responsibilities: As a Scheme Project Manager, you will be responsible for the management of multiple Network Rail and rail related infrastructure contracts, including planned and reactive works. Reporting to CML’s Contract Manager in Sheffield, the role will involve working on projects delivery of small scheme works and design and build items on the framework. In order to carry out some of the main functions of the role, you will also need to have an excellent understanding of design drawings and a commercial awareness of cost monitoring and cost value reconciliation. Liaising with the Client on a day-to-day basis is also a key part of this position, so we are looking for someone who is able to confidently maintain and develop client relationships on the basis of mutual trust and high standards. This a very fast paced role, in which you can expect to have a high involvement in the planning of the works programme. You will be managing 2 teams on site, visiting site approximately 3 times a week. Within the role you can also expect to be: Providing guidance and practical advice to site personnel for the competent execution of the contract works. Promoting and implementing site specific management plans to ensure site activities comply with CML Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies. Preparing site works package plans and contract plans to achieve, as a minimum, the Client’s requirement and specification. Liaising with the Contracts Manager and Commercial team regarding any estimates or technical queries, where there may be concerns. The acceptance, control and reconciliation of temporary and permanent works materials and equipment necessary to achieve the contract works, in accordance with the planned activities. Reviewing completed works with the Site Supervisor, ensuring all works are completed and that all project documentation is present and correct. Processing the requisition of major items of temporary and permanent works materials, sub-contractors, plant and equipment necessary to achieve the contract delivery. Person Specification: The ideal candidate will have Civil Engineering Construction work, ideally in a railway environment (at least 5 years) Appreciation of Network Rail design process Demonstratable Line management experience Demonstratable commercial experience - NEC4 contract experience desirable Demonstratable programme management experience Railway safety training - PTS essential, COSS/IWA desirable Continued professional development courses as appropriate - SMSTS - MAPM - NVQ 6/7 - NEBOSH - Temporary works co-ordinator Other desirable experience for this role include: Experience of reactive Works Delivery Frameworks and delivery of mid-range projects (£250k - £600k) At CML, the Health, Safety and Wellbeing of all our Site members are at the forefront of what we do.
