Position: Holdsworth School (Part of Polaris Education) – Burnley, Lancashire
About the Role

Salary: £21,257.48 Contract: Term-time only Hours: 37.5 hours per week

About Holdsworth School
Held in Burnley, Holdsworth School will provide a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for up to 48 pupils (aged 5–18) with complex needs. Embedded within the Polaris Community, the school serves communities positively for over 30 years.
Key Responsibilities
As School Administrator, you will be the face of the school office, managing both front-facing duties and back-office operations while supporting the needs of staff, pupils, and families.

- Welcome and assist parents, visitors, and colleagues professionally and warmly
- Handle phone calls, mail, and appointments efficiently
- Manage school correspondence with accuracy and confidentiality

Administrative & Organisational Support
- Maintain school calendars, databases, records, and filing systems
- Schedule meetings, take accurate minutes, and support executive decisions via the management team
- Track attendance, registers, and reports while maintaining compliance and clarity

Support to School Leadership & Teaching Staff
- Provide back-up support to the Head Teacher, deputy, and wider education team
- Assist with safeguarding procedures, ensuring secure data handling and confidentiality

Operational & Logistical Coordination
- Manage school resources, post, deliveries, ID cards, and diary bookings
- Ensure accurate IT system use, particularly SIMS and other educational software
- Process budgets and monitor costs within set frameworks
Requirements
Skills & Experience: ✔ Proven expertise in education administration, with knowledge of school systems (including SIMS). ✔ ** Strong written and verbal communication skills** to interact with parents, colleagues, and pupils. ✔ High-level organisation, time management, and ability to prioritise tasks efficiently. ✔ Understanding of child protection, safeguarding, and data protection practices. ✔ Experience in process improvement and system development within a school environment. ✔ Ability to work without direct supervision while contributing collaboratively in a team.
