School Admissions Support Officer
School Admissions Support Officer – London Borough of Harrow
Overview
The London Borough of Harrow is seeking to appoint a School Admissions Support Officer to deliver an efficient, accurate, and customer-focused admissions service. Working closely with the School Admissions Manager and Admissions Officers, the postholder will:
- Contribute to the smooth administration of all aspects of the school admissions process
- Ensure statutory requirements, the School Admissions Code, and the School Admissions Appeals Code are met at all times
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will tasked with:
- Coordinating and processing applications
- Ensuring data is accurately recorded and maintained within the EMS (local admissions system)
- Preparing application information to facilitate matching pupils to available school places
- Engaging in liaison with parents, schools, and internal stakeholders
- Providing clear guidance and resolving enquiries
- Maintaining a fully integrated and responsive admissions service

About You
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
Key Requirements
- Awareness of School Admissions and School Admissions Appeals Codes
- Familiarity with government policies and priorities in relation to school admissions
- Understanding of the diverse nature of Harrow’s communities
- Proficiency in data input and transfer operations using EMS (local admissions system)
- Experience liaising with schools, parents, and officers
