Job Description

Role: Attendance Officer

Academy: Outwood Academy Acklam

Start Date: 01 September 2026

Salary (Actual Salary): £23,390 - £24,475

Working Pattern: 37 Hours Per Week, Monday to Friday, Term Time only plus 5 days

Are you passionate about ensuring every student maximises their potential through consistent attendance? As an Attendance Officer, you will be crucial in implementing whole-school strategies designed to improve attendance levels and actively reduce persistent absence. This role blends operational duties such as conducting home visits and late gate patrols with essential administrative support, requiring resilient engagement with students and parents to address attendance barriers.

Welcome From The Principal

As Principal, I'm incredibly proud of our GOOD-rated, vibrant, and diverse 11-16 academy in Middlesbrough. We have nearly 1,200 students who benefit from our spectacular building, state-of-the-art facilities, and strong, inclusive community.

Our energetic and passionate academic and pastoral teams are committed to making a significant impact. This is evident in our consistently improving student outcomes, including being the highest performing school in the town on the Fairer Schools Index with 'Well Above Average' progress. Everything we do is driven by our ACKLAM values.

We are an outward-facing school that celebrates diversity and widens opportunities for both our students and the community. Staff love working here, and we trust you will too. We encourage you to submit an application or come for a look around.

If you have any questions or would like to visit the school, please contact Chloe Donnelly (HR Assistant) at c.donnelly@acklam.outwood.com.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
