About The Role

The position of School Business Assistant will be based at Taddington and Priestcliffe C of E Primary School.

As a small school, the contribution of each staff member is invaluable, and we are committed to ensuring that every position within our team supports our core mission: fostering a nurturing environment for teaching and learning for all our children and their families. The existing Federation school business professionals at our other schools are committed to supporting the newly appointed SBO to ensure a smooth transition into our team.

There will also be 6 meetings per year for the role of Clerk to Governors.

The role of a School Business Assistant, while primarily clerical and administrative, requires a candidate who embodies our warm, caring ethos and demonstrates a genuine commitment to being a team player. We believe it is crucial that our next School Business Assistant not only excels in their administrative duties but also understands the significance of their position within the wider context of our school community.

We are seeking an individual who will promote our values and exhibit a sense of 'otherness'—someone who goes beyond the basic requirements of the role and is willing to adapt and be flexible to meet the diverse needs of our school.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
