School Business Manager
School Business Manager - Immediate Start
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced School Business Manager to join a well-established and forward-thinking secondary school in Crawley. This is an immediate start position, offered on a temporary basis until January 2027, with a strong possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.
The successful School Business Manager will play a pivotal role in the strategic and operational leadership of the school's business functions. This includes overseeing finance, HR, estates, and administrative services, ensuring the school operates efficiently and effectively in support of its educational goals.
We are seeking a highly organised, proactive, and resilient School Business Manager who has demonstrable experience working in a similar role within a school environment. You will bring strong financial acumen, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. The daily rate of pay is negotiable dependent on experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Leading on financial planning, budgeting, and monitoring
- Managing HR processes, including recruitment and staff records
- Overseeing premises, health & safety, and compliance
- Line managing support staff and external contractors
- Supporting senior leadership with strategic decision-making
The Ideal School Business Manager
- Have proven experience as a School Business Manager within a school setting
- Be confident managing budgets and financial systems
- Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills
- Be adaptable, solution-focused, and highly organised
- Experience with IMP, Implicit, or iTrent systems would be advantageous but is not essential.
