About the Role

Governors and Senior Leaders at our friendly and inclusive school are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, experienced, and committed School Business Manager, who firmly believes that every child, regardless of their circumstances, can achieve excellent outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

The right candidate will have the ability to keep ahead of funding and legislative changes that apply to the education sector. They will also have management responsibility for effective whole school administration and organisational systems ensuring the adequate provision of resources throughout the school. The Team at Rood End are passionate about their work and support each other in their aim to ‘Nurture Hope and Ambition to Achieve and Succeed.’

Required Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has sound experience of financial management and budgetary planning and control.
  • Has a proven record of financial and project management and demonstrates skills and abilities at implementing strategic change.
  • Has experience of successful funding bids.
  • Is confident in accepting responsibility and working independently as well as collaboratively with other staff.
  • Has the ability to work under pressure, to deadlines and to prioritise effectively.
  • Has the ability to line manage and delegate efficiently and effectively.
  • Is committed to working in line with the school ethos and mission.

  • Hours: 37 hours per week, term time + 2 weeks (hours - 7.30 – 4 (4 days – 1 hr lunch), 7.30 – 3.30 (1 day- 1 hr lunch))
  • Grade: Grade G SCP 32-37 (£42,839 - £48,226 per annum, actual salary £39,543 - £45,443 pro-rata per annum)
