Tibshelf Community School is a thriving, oversubscribed 11-16 school with 851 students, located near Chesterfield on the edge of the Peak District, with excellent transport links via the M1.

Be the driving force behind an exceptional school

We are seeking an outstanding School Business Officer to join our ambitious and supportive school. This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of school life, where no two days are the same.

As a key member of the School Business Services Team, you will work closely with the School Business Leader to ensure the smooth, safe and efficient running of the school. You'll play a pivotal role in driving school improvement, managing operational services, leading administrative functions and ensuring compliance across a range of areas including Health & Safety, HR, GDPR, communications and marketing.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing and supporting administrative teams to deliver an outstanding service
  • Providing information and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
  • Acting as the school's lead for Health & Safety
  • Ensuring statutory compliance and promoting a strong culture of health and safety
  • Overseeing school communications, website compliance, digital information systems and messaging platforms
  • Managing publicity, social media and marketing activities to promote the school's achievements
  • Supporting HR processes which may include recruitment, inductions and staff absence monitoring
  • Contributing to school improvement, sustainability initiatives and continuous service development

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of managing administrative and operational functions
  • Is an excellent communicator with strong relationship-building and influencing skills
  • Can confidently lead and motivate teams
  • Has exceptional organisational, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Demonstrates a proactive approach to driving improvement and innovation
  • Has a strong understanding of compliance, health & safety and operational best practice
  • Maintains absolute confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Thrives in a busy environment and can effectively prioritise competing demands
