School Catering Supervisor

Catering Supervisor – Part-Time Role (27.5 Hours Per Week)

We’re recruiting an experienced Catering Supervisor to oversee all Compass Group UK&I catering and service operations for Chartwells on a part-time basis, contracted to 27.5 hours per week, with a commitment of 43.2 working weeks per year.


About the Role

As a Catering Supervisor at Chartwells, you’ll ensure our kitchens and service counters run smoothly while delivering truly incredible food experiences.   • Shift patterns: To be tailored to individual needs (specific details available upon application).

Your Key Responsibilities

Your role will include (but not be limited to):

  • Preparing and delivering delicious food to the highest standards
  • Supervising culinary and catering teams to maintain impeccable food and customer service
  • Regularly communicating with your line manager to track KPIs and company targets
  • Representing Compass Group UK&I, ensuring a positive brand image
  • Liaising between customers and catering/support teams to exceed expectations
  • Supporting and training team members, leading by example to help everyone perform at their best
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards across all catering operations

The Ideal Candidate

To thrive in this role, you should:

  • Be passionate about great-tasting food and exceptional customer service
  • Have a minimum of two years’ catering experience
  • Have experience managing teams in a similar role
  • Hold a Basic Food Hygiene certificate
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and organisation skills
  • Be an ambitious and motivated individual eager to continue upskilling
