Role Setting
The core purpose of the Amegreen Education is to provide a professional independent school setting to support the best possible educational experience and outcomes for our students by effectively meeting the objectives and strategic priorities of the organisation.
Summary of Role
The postholder will work under the direction of the School Administrator to maintain an environment that is supportive of a culture of excellence, in learning and teaching which recognises pupils’ individual worth.
Job Description
This job description is based on the key areas identified by the Headteacher and governors who acknowledge the importance of the role and who actively offer long term support, encouragement, CPD and realistic challenge, to the successful candidate. Amegreen Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and vulnerable adults and then ensure that the highest priority is given to following the guidance and regulations to safeguard them.
Responsibilities
- Clean classrooms, corridors, offices, staff rooms, and communal areas
- Dust, wipe, and polish surfaces, furniture, and fixtures
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
- Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately
- Clean and sanitise toilets, washrooms, and changing areas
- Refill toiletries such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels
- Ensure all cleaning products and equipment are correctly stored and stock levels are maintained
- Spot and deep clean as needed: windows, glass panels, and doors
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or health and safety hazards
- Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely following guidelines; use PPE as required and prevent hazards such as wet floors and trip risks
- Lock/unlock premises if required (depending on shift)
- Support deep cleaning activities during school holidays or special events
- Undertake other duties as directed by management that is commensurate with the post

Person Specification
- Act as a role model, to champion Amegreen Educations vision and values
- Comply with Amegreen Education policies and procedures including safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, data protection and confidentiality
- Undertake personal and professional development activities
- Play a significant role in the establishment, carry out professional duties
- Work in a flexible manner and be willing to undertake other duties as reasonably requested
Knowledge & Experience
- Awareness and understanding of health and safety
- Previous experience of cleaning in an office / commercial setting
- COSHH awareness in a commercial setting
- Manual handling and health & safety at work regulations and guidance

- Physically able to carry out the manual aspects of the role (including lifting and bending)
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to the role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Warm, approachable, with strong professional boundaries
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and business needs
- Able to work independently and to manage own workload within allocated timeframes
- Tactful and discreet, whilst mindful of observing safeguarding and professional standards
