School Cleaner 🖸 Location: Crookhey Hall, Cockerham, Lancaster, LA2 0HA

Hours & Contract

  • Hours: 16 per week
  • Schedule: Monday to Thursday 2.00–5.00 pm,Friday 1.00–5.00 pm
  • Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only (Start: Sept 2026)
  • Salary: £9,455.20/year (£13.25/hour, not pro-rata)

About This Role

We’re looking for a reliable, proactive School Cleaner to ensure our school remains a clean, safe, and welcoming place for pupils, staff, and visitors.

Your work directly supports a in a hygienic environment where everyone can focus on learning. This behind-the-scenes role is crucial, and your attention to detail will make a meaningful difference daily.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Keep classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets, and communal areas spotless.
  • Handle ad hoc cleaning tasks when necessary.
  • Adapt to the school’s schedule and timely events.
  • Handle and store cleaning supplies safely (COSHH-compliant).
  • Restock materials and alert the team when supplies run low.
  • Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
  • Support safeguarding standards through vigilance and safe practice.

Who We’re Looking For

Applicants should have:

  • Experience in cleaning, ideally in a school or childcare setting.
  • A strong understanding of COSHH and cleaning safety.
  • Independent problem-solving skills and initiative.
  • Relentless attention to detail and high standards.
  • Punctuality, reliability, and professionalism.
  • A team-focused, positive attitude.
  • A strong dedication to safeguarding vulnerable young people.
  • Full UK driving licence (essential given the remote location).
