Position: School Cleaner
Hours: Full-time – 15 hours per week, Mon-Fri, 3 hours per day (4pm - 7pm) Location: Bromley, West Wickham School
Horizon Care and Education Group are recruiting for a committed and passionate individual for a permanent School Cleaner opportunity at their school.
Wickham Park School will be a brand-new SEN school in the heart of Bromley, South London. Spread across three modern buildings, the school will provide exceptional learning facilities for up to 70 pupils aged 5-19, covering Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autism.
Purpose of the Job
- Ensure all office and school areas are cleaned to a high standard to maintain a safe and hygienic work environment.
Main Duties

Security & Keyholder Responsibilities:
- Act as keyholder, including setting and immobilising school alarms.
- Manage alarm callouts on a rota basis.
- Operate school security systems as directed.

Operational Problem Solving:
- Resolve day-to-day operational issues, escalating to the Headteacher when required.

Cleaning Responsibilities:
- Perform internal and external window cleaning.
- Clean carpets, hard floors, light fittings, walls, Venetian blinds, and furniture.
- Safely operate cleaning machinery and equipment.

Statutory Compliance:
- Complete safeguarding training and adhere to school policies.

Reporting & Maintenance:
- Report any major defects in buildings, equipment, or security systems observed during daily duties.
- Maintain stock of cleaning materials and order replacements through the School Secretary.

- Assisting with major periodic cleaning tasks.
