School Crossing Patrol at Charlton Horethorne Church of England Primary School

School Crossing Patrol (Grade 1, Point 3 – Permanent Role)

Salary & Contract

  • Salary: £2,837 per annum (prorated)
  • Terms: Permanent, 5 hours per week (term-time + 4 inset days)
  • Frequency: Monthly payments, adjusted accordingly based on contracted hours worked.

The salary listed reflects the current rate at the time of advertisement but will be adjusted to ensure accurate pay for work completed during the academic year.


Role Overview

We are seeking a reliable and community-minded School Crossing Patrol to ensure the safety of pupils, parents, and staff during drop-off and pick-up times.

This rewarding position involves:

  • Providing a safe and designated crossing point for children and pedestrians.
  • Promoting road safety awareness across the school site.
  • Working collaboratively within our supportive school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Following approved crossing procedures while managing traffic.
  • Ensuring a calm, professional, and child-friendly demeanour.
  • Operating in all weather conditions while adhering to the highest safety standards.

  • Full training, uniform, and protective equipment will be provided.
  • This role may also align with Midday Supervisor duties if preferred.

  • Exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
