School IT Support Associate
Salary: G3 - £29,436 - £31,158pa
Department: Traded Services - Education
Are you a dynamic individual with technical know-how and the ability to deliver a high level of customer service?
Havering Council are looking for an IT Associate to work in the traded services team, with a strong customer service focus, to deliver its IT services to schools.
- You will provide hands-on IT support across schools in Havering and nearby areas.
- Travelling between sites, you will troubleshoot issues, build relationships, and ensure smooth IT operations.
- You will also work with the team of engineers assisting with projects like installing networks, Wi-Fi, Cloud solutions, and support the 1st/2nd line functions of service desk.
About You
If you are an IT apprentice looking for your first role, a junior IT technician looking for your next step up or looking to take on more responsibility and make a difference to the IT within our schools, then this is the role for you.
- You will have previous customer service experience.
- You have supported a range of technical services, ranging from the setup, maintaining, troubleshooting desktop (Windows), cloud-based services (Microsoft 365, Google, Apple), network and server management within an ITIL environment, and have delivered against service level agreements.
- Not fully up to speed in those areas? Don't worry, as long as you are willing to learn, we can offer training support to fill the knowledge gaps.
- Your excellent communication skills and ‘can do’ approach will be essential to your success in your ability to work as part of the team and develop effective working relationships.
