School Kitchen Assistant

Kitchen Assistant – Part-Time (7.5 hours/week)

We’re looking for a motivated and passionate Kitchen Assistant to join the Chartwells team on a part-time basis. You’ll be the heart of our operation, helping us prepare delicious, high-quality meals while becoming part of a team that prides itself on excellence, both in food and culture.

This role is with Compass Group UK&I, the leading provider of catering and support services to the education sector. Here, we’re committed to nurturing strong bodies, sharp minds, and long-term health for learners across the UK.

Shift Patterns

Shift details will be provided upon shortlisting (marked as Other in the application template).


Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing delicious, high-quality food that delights our clients and students
  • Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in kitchens and surrounding areas
  • Ensuring correct use of all machinery and equipment
  • Assisting with loading/unloading of deliveries and supply vehicles
  • Representing Chartwells and upholding a positive brand image
  • Complying with Food Hygiene & Handling Standards
  • Adhering to Health & Safety regulations
