Minibus Driver – Part-Time (20 Hours/Week), Nottingham Girls High School
Contract
- Type: Part-time, term time + 6 days during closure periods
- Hours: 20 hours per week (or 10-hour option available)
- Salary: FTE equivalent of £27,168.00
- Location: Nottingham Girls High School, 9 Arboretum Street, Nottingham, NG1 4JB
- Closing Date: Open until we appoint sufficient drivers
About the Role

As part of the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST)—the UK’s leading group of independent girls’ schools—we recruit conscientious, reliable drivers to ensure our students travel safely and securely to and from school daily.
We seek a minibus driver to join our professional team, operating term-time shifts with additional support during school closures.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate school minibuses/MPVs, adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Conduct prestart safety inspections, fueling, and bus washing daily.
- Maintain calm and composed conduct in emergency/incident scenarios.
- Foster excellent relations with parents and ensure a positive atmosphere on board.
- Proactively contribute to school transport procedures and systems.
Shift Patterns
Approximate driving times:
- 06:45–08:30 (morning runs)
- 15:15–17:25 (afternoon runs)
Requirements
Candidates must demonstrate and be prepared to obtain/boost the following:
- A valid Cat D1 driving licence with an acceptable driving record.
- MIDAS qualification (or commitment to undertake this).
- Over 21 years of age.
- First Aid qualification (or commitment to complete within a reasonable timeframe).
- Exceptional personality traits:
- A calm, composed attitude in challenging situations.
- Strong communication skills to engage with parents and students positively.
