Farnborough Hill is seeking to appoint an outstanding, compassionate, professional and highly organised full-time School Nurse to join our welcoming and successful independent school community, from September 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Farnborough Hill is seeking to appoint an outstanding, compassionate, professional and highly organised School Nurse to join our welcoming and successful independent school community.

The School Nurse plays a vital role in contributing to the health, wellbeing and safeguarding of our pupils and wider school community. The successful candidate will provide high-quality medical care and support pupils' physical and emotional wellbeing, whilst working closely with pastoral, safeguarding and teaching colleagues.

This is a full-time role, term time only plus Inset days, with the normal hours of work Monday to Friday, 8.00 am – 4.30 pm, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. The successful applicant may occasionally be required to work additional hours in connection with school events, parents’ evenings, trips, sporting fixtures or emergency situations.

The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, empathy and understanding of young people's needs, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, staff and external professionals. The successful candidate will also contribute to the strategic development of health and wellbeing provision across the School.

The Successful Applicant Will

  • Be a Registered Nurse (RN Child, RN Adult, RGN or RPHN).
  • Have experience of working with children or young people, ideally within a school or community setting.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • Be committed to supporting pupil wellbeing and safeguarding.
  • Be able to work independently whilst contributing effectively as part of a wider pastoral team.

Experience of paediatric nursing, sports injury management, first aid training or work within an educational environment would be advantageous.

The School Nurse is line managed by the Deputy Head – Pastoral and will undertake such duties as may reasonably be required in accordance with the Job Description.
