School Nurse
Location: Blackheath, South East London
Contract: Long Term or Permanent, Part-Time, Term Time Only
Hours: 12.5 hours per week
Monday: 10:15am - 4:30pm
Tuesday: 10:15am - 4:30pm
Wednesday: 9:15am - 10:15am (handover)
Salary: Competitive
A highly regarded independent preparatory school in Blackheath is seeking an experienced, caring and proactive School Nurse to join its dedicated team on a permanent, part-time basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in promoting the health, wellbeing and safety of pupils aged 3-11 within a warm, supportive and thriving school community.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for leading all aspects of first aid provision and delivering high-quality medical support to pupils and, where appropriate, the wider school community.
The Role
As School Nurse, You Will
- Lead the school's first aid provision
- Assess and manage pupils presenting with illness or injury
- Administer medication safely and maintain accurate medical records
- Develop and implement individual healthcare plans
- Liaise effectively with parents, staff and external healthcare professionals
- Promote health and wellbeing throughout the school
- Ensure compliance with statutory guidance and school policies
- Support staff with medical training and first aid guidance where required

The Ideal Candidate
We Are Looking For Someone Who
- Is a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
- Has experience working with children or young people
- Demonstrates excellent clinical judgement and organisational skills
- Can remain calm and professional in emergency situations
- Understands the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Enjoys working as part of a collaborative school community
