School Nurse Practitioner – Paediatric Enuresis (0.6 WTE)
Based within Merton Borough
Are you a qualified Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (School Nursing) or due to qualify soon? This is an exciting opportunity to join our School Nursing team within Public Health 0–19 Services in Merton, working in a part-time capacity (22.5 hours per week).
Job Overview
The role involves providing a specialist, nurse-led Tier 2 Enuresis Service for children and young people aged 5–19 presenting with:
- Persistent nocturnal enuresis (bedwetting)
- Related continence issues
As a School Nurse Practitioner, you will deliver an evidence-based service with the following objectives:

The role also includes support for the ** Healthy Child Programme** as part of the School Nursing service, aligned with CLCH Trust values and behaviours.
Main Duties
Assessment & Planning
- Deliver timely, holistic assessment and nursing care to support bladder continence, tailored to individual patient needs and preferences.
Intervention & Treatment
- Provide skilled, evidence-based nursing care including:
- Bladder training
- Lifestyle advice
- Enuresis alarms
- Desmopressin therapy (in accordance with NICE guidance)
- Support children and families in developing confidence, knowledge, and self-management skills to maintain continence and prevent relapse.
Equity & Access
- Ensure equitable access to services across all Merton localities, with priority for vulnerable groups including those with:
- SEND (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities)
- Socioeconomic disadvantages or underserviced areas

Multidisciplinary Collaboration
- Integrate effectively with:
- Tier 1 services (School Nursing, Health Visiting, General Practitioners)
- Tier 3 services (Paediatricians, Specialist Continence Teams) via clear referral and feedback pathways.
