Position Overview Langston University’s Social Sciences Department is seeking qualified and committed Adjunct Professors to teach courses across multiple disciplines. We are actively recruiting individuals with expertise in Corrections, Criminal Justice, Government, History, Humanities, and Sociology to support our growing academic programs.
Adjunct Professors will deliver high-quality instruction, engage students in meaningful learning experiences, and contribute to the academic mission of Langston University. Courses will be offered primarily in person, with the potential option for some online instruction, depending on departmental needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate-level courses in the assigned specialization area.
- Develop and deliver course materials that meet departmental and university standards.
- Foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment that supports diverse learners.
- Assess student performance through assignments, exams, and other evaluative measures.
- Maintain timely communication with students and department leadership.
- Hold office hours or provide alternative availability to support student success.
- Adhere to all university policies, procedures, and academic guidelines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's
- Minimum of a master’s degree in the discipline for which the applicant is applying (e.g., Corrections, Criminal Justice, Government, History, Humanities, or Sociology). (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

- Demonstrated expertise in the subject matter and the ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate level.

- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated ability to remain current in the discipline’s evolving body of knowledge

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous college-level teaching experience.
- Experience with online or hybrid teaching environments.
- Familiarity with culturally responsive teaching practices.

- Ph.D./Ed.D.
