Purpose of the Role
As an Apprentice School Support Officer, you will support the Central Finance Team, ensuring smooth financial operations between schools and administrative excellence. Reporting to the Business Services Team Leader, your tasks include:
- Acting as the financial liaison between Central Services and schools
- Maintaining accurate, timely transactions as per the Trust’s Finance Handbook
- Providing Administrative support for Central Business Services

Key Responsibilities
Administrative & Financial Support:
- Resolving school and third-party financial queries efficiently
- Raising requisitions and purchase orders
- Facilitating credit card and business account purchases
- Managing Parent Payment system entries
Operational & Reporting:
- Supporting financial reporting to schools
- Assisting staff in using the financial system and accessing records
- Investigating and providing clearances for suspicious activities
Team & Professional Growth:
- Supporting the Finance Apprenticeship Scheme
- Handling enquiries from staff, parents, customers, and suppliers
School Support:
- Liaising with Nash Schools, including on-site visits when required
- Undertaking additional duties as needed
Pay & Employment
Pay Range: £14,566 to £25,583 (APPR 1 – APPR 6) Essential Qualifications/Skills:
- Relevant professional qualification (Level 2 or equivalent)
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Computer literacy with advanced Excel skills
- Numeracy proficiency
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Motivated and flexible
