Secondary Science Teachers Required: Bury St Edmunds

Are you a qualified Science Teacher looking for the freedom to teach without the pressure of full-time responsibilities? Do you want to regain your work-life balance while still keeping your passion for practical education alive?

We are seeking enthusiastic and adaptable Secondary Science Teachers for daily, short-term supply cover at a variety of secondary schools and academies in Bury St Edmunds and the surrounding area.

Whether you are an experienced teacher looking to step away from a permanent classroom role, or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to build confidence and network across different local departments, day-to-day supply offers the perfect solution.

The Role: Day-to-Day Science Cover

  • Complete Flexibility: Manage your own diary and work the days that suit you. There is no obligation to commit to full weeks.
  • Focus on Teaching: Deliver engaging pre-planned Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, without the burden of planning, grading, or parents evenings.
  • Diverse Environments: Gain experience in a range of secondary settings, from large town academies to smaller community schools.

What We Are Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification with a specialism in Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to confidently deliver the secondary Science curriculum.
  • Effective classroom management strategies, with a strong awareness of classroom safety regulations during theory and practical-based cover.
  • A flexible, proactive attitude and a willingness to adapt to different school policies.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or the willingness for one).
