Role Description
This is a self-employed part-time evening tutor position based on-site in Runcorn or Rainhill. You will be delivering Science tuition to small groups of students. The Science Teacher will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across science disciplines, supporting learners in mastering key concepts and preparing for examinations. Responsibilities include:

- Developing schemes of work
- Assessing learner progress
- Providing constructive feedback
- Adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs in small group settings
The Science Teacher will uphold safeguarding standards and support the wider educational aims of the organisation. Additional day-time hours may be available. All applications are subject to Safer Recruitment checks.
Qualifications
- Strong background in Science Education, with the ability to teach across key stages and adapt content to varied abilities.
- Status as a Qualified Teacher (or equivalent teaching qualification) and proven classroom or tuition experience.
- Competence in Lesson Planning, including creating schemes of work, resources, and assessments aligned with curriculum requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and motivate diverse learners.
- Experience supporting learners with different educational backgrounds, including home-educated and adult learners, is advantageous.
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusive practice, and ongoing professional development.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage positively with parents, schools, and external partners.
