Contract term: Permanent Hours: Full time Term Time only FTE 0.838 Salary: Regional Grade 3, no less than £22,741 (actual pay) Required: ASAP
We’re looking for a dynamic Science Technician with a particular passion for Biology to help ignite curiosity and confidence across our STEM community. This is a school where innovation meets tradition and every girl is known, supported, and inspired to thrive.
You’ll work collaboratively across Biology, Chemistry and Physics, bringing strong interpersonal skills, excellent organisation, and a genuine commitment to supporting both colleagues and students. Key aspects of the role:
- Teaching & Learning: Prepare, trial and clear away practical equipment; support teachers and pupils during experiments; maintain protocols; assist with displays, extracurricular activities and departmental admin.
- Health & Safety: Ensure all practical work follows CLEAPSS/COSHH guidance; monitor safe procedures; manage hazardous waste; respond to lab emergencies; provide first aid if qualified.
- Training & Development: Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge; engage in ongoing training; review and develop own practice; hold or obtain a first-aid qualification.
- Resource Management: Manage stock, purchasing, inventories and budgets; maintain safe storage; keep prep rooms tidy; ensure equipment servicing and repairs.
