Scientific Technician
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Science Technician to join our science team under the supervision of the Head of Science. Based in the Madeley Academy, a highly regarded 11–18 secondary school with approximately 1,250 students, you will help oversee the safe and efficient running of the Prep room.
The academy proudly maintains an exceptional reputation in science, delivering engaging, challenging, and enjoyable lessons that inspire curiosity among students. This role will be integral to continuing that high-quality teaching culture.

Primary Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Science in ensuring a safe, efficient, and well-stocked Prep room
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and laboratories to high standards
- Assist teachers with lesson practicals, demos, and experiments
- Play a role in fostering a positive and inspiring science-learning environment
Key Details
- Salary: £25,000 per annum (negotiable)
- Hours: 37 hours per week
- Contract: Term time plus one additional week
- Start Date: 1 September 2026
- Location: Madeley Academy
