Science Technician - What The Role Involves

Preparing, setting up, and dismantling laboratory equipment and materials for practical lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5 Maintaining a safe, well-organised, and fully stocked laboratory environment at all times Supporting teachers during practical lessons and assisting pupils with equipment use where appropriate Managing chemical and biological stock, ensuring safe storage and disposal in line with CLEAPSS guidelines Carrying out basic maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment and reporting wider issues promptly

Science Technician - What The School Is Looking For

The ideal Science Technician will hold a relevant Science qualification - A-Level, degree, or equivalent - from a reputable UK institution. Previous experience in a laboratory or school technician role is highly desirable. The school is seeking a meticulous, dependable, and safety-conscious Science Technician with strong organisational skills and a genuine enthusiasm for supporting excellent Science education.

£444 per week, pro rata to term time only Full-time, long-term contract from September 2026 to July 2027 Term-time only Potential for extended contracts or further development opportunities following a successful placement
