Part-Time Science Technician – St. Osmund’s C.E. Middle School
We are seeking to appoint a part-time Science Technician to work three days per week within our Science department.
About the Role
- Location: St. Osmund’s C.E. Middle School, Dorchester (Wessex Multi Academy Trust)
- Ofsted Status: Good (2022), with SIAMS Strong Report (2026)
- Working Hours: 21 hours per week (term time only), 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Start Date: Tuesday 1st September (permanent position)
- Skills Required:
- Keen eye for detail
- Can-do attitude
- Adequate resource management (with focus on keeping the science area clean, organised, and equipped)
- *Familiarity with CLEAPSS regulations (training provided)
- Direct support to the science team in delivering structured, engaging science lessons for Years 5–8
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, prepare, and maintain classroom and lab resources
- Assist in daily lesson delivery, including experiment demonstration and practical activities
- Ensure safety protocols are upheld in line with school policies
- Contribute to an inspiring and functional science learning environment
