The Scientific Officer (Intern) will work alongside experts to support research, data analysis, and compliance-related activities. We combine scientific research, data management, and regulatory interpretation, offering a well-rounded introduction to professional practice within the chemical and life science industries.
Requirements
- Advanced Degree with no prior experience, with the opportunity for a one year placement in industry
- Preferred Fields of Study: Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, or related scientific field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Engineering)
- Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and implementing corrective actions
- Experience developing and delivering EHS training programs
- Knowledge in industrial hygiene monitoring, hazardous materials management, and emergency response
- Ability to analyze EHS data and metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Strong project management and organizational skills to handle multiple priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to work with all levels of the organization
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS management systems
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across functions
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Additional language skills may be valued
- Must be able to conduct facility inspections and respond to emergencies, including some physical activity
