Scientist (Bioanalysis)
We are currently recruiting for a Scientist (Bioanalysis), to join the Analytical Sciences Team in Alderley Park.
As a Scientist you will be primarily laboratory-based, working with our highly skilled team to ensure that Analytical Sciences assays, both commercial and R&D focused, which are performed to a high standard and within scheduled timeframes. In addition, you will support the training and development of staff, improving the team’s knowledge and processes.

Key Responsibilities
Scientific
- To conduct both routine and bespoke Analytical Sciences LC-MS/MS assays (both manually and using liquid-handling robots).
- To demonstrate ability to use scientific knowledge in data analysis, interpretation and troubleshooting.
- To be responsible for management of assigned assays, take ownership for the planning and delivery of these assays, communicating effectively with team members and the study managers.
- To support senior team members with assay development and validation and design of bespoke assays, including sample preparation.
- To ensure that all errors and erroneous results are reported to your supervisor with minimal delay.
- To keep up to date with relevant scientific advances and regulatory guidelines in the field of Analytical Sciences.
- To ensure all laboratory equipment and work areas are clean and in proper working order on completion of assigned tasks.
- To monitor and maintain stock consumables, communicating with internal buyers and external suppliers.
- To ensure accurate and complete documentation of all activities as required by relevant SOPs and Quality policies.

- To coach and mentor associate scientists and other colleagues within the team on assay execution and data analysis.
- To treat all colleagues with dignity and respect

- To proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and assay design and to support senior scientists to review and action these improvements.
- To ensure work is performed to an exceptionally high standard, within specified time frames, ensuring safety regulations and QC procedures are strictly adhered to.
Self
- To ensure appropriate Health and Safety procedures are followed at all times in the workplace.
- To participate in all training required to perform effectively in job role.
- To ensure that your personal training record is up to date and that any gaps are discussed with your supervisor.
- To complete timesheets on time and in accordance with guidance from Finance.
- To actively participate in Evotalks and agree on personal targets and expectations with supervisor
- Any other task that may reasonably be requested by your supervisor.
What we can offer you in return
- Competitive salary and benefits package
- Pension on completion (but not subject to) of your 3-month probationary period. Contributions 5% for employees (salary sacrifice) and 5% for the employer. The employee can opt to increase their contribution, and the employer will match the increase up to a maximum of 7.5%.
