About The Role
Bioscientists at Sygnature Discovery play essential roles in supporting and leading integrated client projects as well as developing and delivering customised biological screening assays to drive structure-activity relationships for preclinical drug discovery campaigns.
We are seeking talented Scientists who can help push the boundaries of our capabilities by contributing to the discovery of new drugs across a broad range of projects, molecular targets, and therapeutic indications. You should have recently completed a PhD in a relevant Biology-related discipline that translates well to Bioscience-based drug discovery or have relevant industrial experience within a drug discovery environment. Please note that this is a full-time, fixed-term, lab-based position based at our Alderley Park site.
Whether you are a Scientist looking to transition from academia to the pharmaceutical industry and jumpstart your career in drug discovery, or a Senior Scientist who has a good understanding in the application of drug discovery and is seeking broader exposure to biology, disease areas, screening platforms, and therapeutic modalities - we would love to hear from you!

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
