Swim Teacher Training Opportunity
We are looking for enthusiastic people with a variety of transferable skills and experiences to train as a swim teacher. It is not necessary to have a background in swimming to be a quality swim teacher. Our aim is to make lessons fun and enjoyable and to build a connection with children and adults.
The Scottish Swimming Teacher Qualification (SSTQ)
The SSTQ is the industry standard for those who want to teach unsupervised to groups of swimmers with a range of abilities. A practical-based course, the SSTQ will allow you to gain the necessary skills and experience before you progress to an aquatics working environment. It will support your ongoing learning and development, ensuring that you are fully prepared to deliver high quality lessons.

Requirements
- Shadowing our current swim teachers is a requirement of the course
- Attendance at all of the various course dates is compulsory
- Successful candidates must pay a nominal non-refundable fee of £100 to secure their place
- You must be at least 16 years of age at the commencement of the course

Please note, there will be a selection process for this opportunity as spaces are limited. The course fees and tutor's fees are covered by Falkirk Council. We do ask for a £100 fee to secure your place. Closing date for applications is Monday 17 March 2025.
