Full and Part Time Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) – Health Visitor

We are recruiting for a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) within: Bolton’s 0-19/25 Children’s Integrated and Well-being Service, Public Health Nursing Service

Role Purpose

The primary aim of specialist health visiting is to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequalities for children, young people, and their families in Bolton.

As an SCPHN, you will:

  • Gain valued, evidence-based experience in supporting young people, families, and communities
  • Provide early intervention and safeguarding initiatives
  • Work holistically to empower families and enhance child welfare

  • Develop strong communication skills to engage, empower, and collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Reflect professional conduct in line with the NMC Code of Professional Practice
  • Work as a reliable team player using problem-solving approaches aligned with public health and community nursing
  • Contribute to early intervention strategies, health promotion, and vulnerability assessments
  • Promote mental health, physical well-being, and social development in children and families

Person Specification

  • Essential:
    • Must be a registered nurse or midwife (current NMC registration required)
    • Latest enhanced DBS clearance
  • Preferred:
    • Experience in public health, health education, or community nursing is beneficial
