About The Team
The Screening department is the first step in the fitness-to-practise process. You will work as part of a small legal team, assessing concerns raised about registered professionals. Your role is crucial in advising whether regulatory action is necessary or if further information is required. This is a key step in maintaining public protection.
About The Role
As a Screening Administrator or Case Processing Officer, you will:
- Efficiently process incoming fitness-to-practise referrals and associated correspondence.
- Ensure accurate updates to:
- The national registration database
- Case management systems within set timescales
- Support the progression of cases through the Fitness to Practise process by completing administrative advancement tasks.

You will also:
- Review and assess incoming fitness-to-practise documentation, including new referrals.
- Provide essential administrative support to colleagues within the Screening team.

- Communicate clearly with colleagues, managers, and stakeholders to optimise departmental workload management.
- Work effectively within a fast-paced, small legal team environment.
- Understand that cases involve highly sensitive, distressing, and often complex content, requiring resilience and emotional awareness.
Salary & Flexibility
- Salary placement is typically at the bottom of the pay band for new applicants.
- Hybrid working: Two days per week in the office (London or Edinburgh), with the remaining days remote.
- Part-time applicants should adjust office attendance proportionally.
