Scrub Nurse – UK Nationwide
Location: On-site – Multiple Locations Across the United Kingdom
Opportunities available with NHS trusts and private healthcare providers across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Placement will be based on experience, specialization, and location preference.
About the Role
We are hiring experienced Scrub Nurses / Theatre Nurses to join operating theatre teams across the UK. You will work closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, and multidisciplinary teams to provide safe, high-quality surgical care across a variety of specialties.
This is a nationwide recruitment, offering flexible on-site opportunities in multiple hospitals and surgical centers.

- Prepare theatre equipment, instruments, and sterile fields before surgery
- Assist the surgical team by anticipating and passing instruments during procedures
- Maintain strict infection control and theatre sterility standards
- Perform instrument counts before, during, and after operations
- Support patient preparation and perioperative care activities
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and theatre staff
- Participate in postoperative debrief and theatre turnover tasks
- Maintain accurate documentation of theatre activities
Requirements
- Registered Nurse with active NMC registration in the UK
- Previous experience in scrub, theatre, or perioperative nursing
- Knowledge of theatre asepsis and infection control
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work across multiple surgical specialties and locations
- Professional attitude with high standards of patient care and safety

Desirable Qualifications
- Perioperative or theatre specialist training
- Experience across multiple surgical specialties (orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, trauma)
- Familiarity with UK surgical pathways and procedural protocols
