We’re looking for a dedicated and skilled Scrub Practitioner to join our Theatre team at Practice Plus Group Hospital Ilford.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a modern surgical environment where patient safety, clinical excellence, and teamwork are at the heart of everything we do. As a valued member of our multidisciplinary theatre team, you’ll play a key role in supporting a wide range of surgical procedures while helping us deliver outstanding outcomes and an exceptional patient experience.

What you'll be doing

As Our Scrub Practitioner, You Will Be

  • Delivering high standards of patient care and safety throughout the peri-operative journey.
  • Working as part of a multidisciplinary theatre team to ensure efficient and effective running of theatre lists.
  • Scrubbing for a variety of procedures and ensuring adherence to all theatre techniques and protocols.
  • Monitoring and maintaining standards relating to instrument, swab, and needle counts.
  • Supporting theatre preparation, equipment checks, and infection prevention and control processes.
  • Assisting with clinical audits, KPI monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Sharing specialist knowledge and supporting the development of junior colleagues and students.
  • Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of theatre services.

What we'll look for in you

As an NMC-registered Nurse or HCPC-registered Operating Department Practitioner with scrub experience, you will also have:

  • A minimum of two years’ scrub experience across a variety of specialities, including Orthopaedics, General Surgery, and Gynaecology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships
  • A commitment to delivering safe, high-quality patient care and service excellence
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a busy theatre environment
  • A proactive approach to learning, development, and service improvement
