Scrum Master

Epko Scrum Master (SAFe Experienced) – Remote

Key Responsibilities

  • PI Planning & Coach Syncs

    • Prepare teams for PI Planning events
    • Facilitate team breakouts
    • Support the Release Train Engineer (RTE)
  • Team Events

    • Lead daily stand-ups, iteration planning, and time-boxed ceremonies such as:
      • Backlog refinement sessions
      • Retrospectives
      • Kanban board updates
  • Inspect & Adapt

    • Facilitate iteration reviews
    • Lead retrospectives and problem-solving workshops
    • Ensure continuous learning and adjustment
  • Backlog Management

    • Collaborate with Product Owners to maintain:
      • A clear, prioritized backlog
      • Ready-to-deliver items
  • Coaching

    • Support teams to improve their ways of working
    • Resolve dependencies and impedements quickly
    • Foster healthy conflict resolution
  • Servant Leadership

    • Hold team accountable for:
      • Kanban tracking
      • Progress transparency
      • SAFe practices

  • Risk & Dependency Management

    • Continuously:
      • Identify emerging risks
      • Escalate dependencies
      • Proactively resolve issues

    • Advocate for DevOps best practices
    • Support the evolution towards a continuous delivery pipeline
  • Metrics & Reporting

    • Monitor and report on:
      • Delivery metrics (velocity, throughput, lead time)
      • Team health trends
      • Customer satisfaction data
    • Use data to drive process improvements

Mandatory Skills & Experience

  • Certification:

    • Must hold a recognized Scrum certification (such as: PSM I, PSM II, CSM, or A-CSM)
  • Experience:

    • 4+ years as a Scrum Master on:
      • Technology teams
      • Products focused on digital or data solutions
    • Experience in:
      • Cross-functional Agile teams
      • Regulated or high-complexity environments (e.g., OT [Operational Technology], construction, portfolio/program settings)

    • Strong command of Agile frameworks (including Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
    • Hands-on exposure to:
      • TDD (Test-Driven Development) and BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) approaches
      • CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment)
  • Soft & Operational Skills:

    • Exceptional facilitation techniques
    • Effective communication (written & verbal)
    • Proven track-record for:
      • Conflict resolution
      • Team coherence in matrix organizations
    • Deep experience in mobilizing new Agile teams
    • Ability to use BI and dashboards for data-driven decision-making
    • Proficiency in coaching both team members and senior stakeholders
